The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.
Here at Rutgers University, our chapter of SWE carries out its mission to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, to expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and to demonstrate the value of diversity. Our chapter is dedicated to locating job opportunities and scholarships for its members in the field of engineering as well as participating in community service events, especially in the New Brunswick-Piscataway area of New Jersey.
For more information about our chapter, feel free to contact any of the members of our executive board or our advisors. For more information about the national organization you can visit their website at http://www.swe.org. |
